These "half-zombies" (or hambies), like former class president Choi Nam-ra, retain their human consciousness and memories despite the infection. The new season is expected to heavily explore their resistance against the military's mission to wipe out the virus, begging the question of whether humans and hybrids can ever find a way to coexist.
Additionally, fans have sparked an "Immunity Theory" surrounding Nam On-jo, speculating that she might be completely immune to the Jonas virus and could potentially hold the cure, as the virus does not seem to target her in the same way it does others.
